So when I was sent the Newman's Own Organics to try I was super excited to find a new recipe. Not hard though. I came up with Apple Cinnamon Pancakes. And they were fab even without syrup. And with it being Newman's Own Organics you know it's gonna be good. The dried fruit line is 100% organic and contains no sulfates.
Apple Cinnamon Pancakes
1 1/2 cup of buttermilk (If you do not have buttermilk add 4tbsp of white Vinegar to milk)
2 cups of flour
4 tbsp of sugar
2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of salt
1tsp of baking soda
2 tsp of cinnamon
4 tbsp melted butter
1 3oz pk of Newman's own Organic Dried Apples
Combine milk, egg, and butter and whisk together. Mix all dry ingredients together in another bowl. Pour the flour mixture into the wet mixture. Mix until lumps are gone. Fold in apples. (You can rehydrate these a little in some apple juice.) But they are soft enough to not have to.
Heat a large griddle. Use medium heat. Spray with cooking spray. Pour batter onto griddle, cook until bubbles appear. Flip and cook on other side til brown.
Serve warm with syrup or your choice of topping. I ate it plain and my kids ate it with syrup.
